We tell you everything we know about the Release Date, Design, Specs and Price of the new NVIDIA Ampere GeForce RTX 3000 Series GPU’s.

Nvidia Geforce RTX 3000 series GPU’s

We haven’t had an official announcement yet regarding the new next-gen Nvidia GeForce RTX 3000 series graphics cards but with the unveiling back in May 2020 of their new ampere GPu architecture we have hear a lot of rumours about the design, specs, price and release date of Nvidia’s upcoming graphics cards.

We tell you everything we know about the Release Date, Design, Specs and Price of the new NVIDIA Ampere GeForce RTX 3000 Series GPU’s.

Nvidia RTX 3000 release date

Hopefully we could be getting some information about the Nvidia upcoming RTX 3060, 3070, RTX 3080 and RT 3090 graphics cards as Nvidia’s GeForce Twitter hits that something big is going to happen on August 31st.

If Nvidia formally unveil their new RTX 3000 cards on the August 31st, i imagine we won’t hear of a proper release date until sometime in September, word of mouth online seems to suggest the same as well.

Without an official release schedule its hard to know for sure in which order they will release each graphics card. I could imagine the RTX 3080 and RTX 3080Ti having a release date in September. The RTX 3070 and RTX 3060 could then release at a later date, maybe October – November and the RTX 3090 maybe December – January.

Nvidia RTX 3000 design

A Fsupposed first glimpse Nvidia’s Ampere designed RTX 3080 surface on a forum called Chiphell with an image of what could be the new Nvidia RTX 3000 series graphics card, showing the front and back of the supposed card and sporting the RTX 3080 name.

The strangest thing about the design of the supposed RTX 3080 is that the card looks to be using dual fans on both sides as apposed to using a single fan in most Nvidia graphic cards and their RTX 2000 series cards. Also we cannot see the sides of the graphics card so we won’t know what display options are available until Nvidia officially unviel the RTX 3000.

Nvidia RTX 3000 specs

In May, Nvidia unveiled theier Ampere GPU architecture at their online GTC 2020 keynote speech with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang confirming that they will be making the switch from 12nm to 7nm (nm = nanometer) manufacturing process.

The smaller the manufacturing process, the more transistors Nvidia can fit on a piece of silicon. Meaning that Nvidia’s flagship cards from last year, the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080Ti use the 12nm manufacturing process, so the move to 7nm should be a big leap in power and performance for the RTX 3000 series.

Nvidia’s rival AMD have already made the switch to using the 7nm manufacturing process with their Redeon RX 5000 series graphics cards and theiwr upcoming Navi GPUs. So now that Nvidia are finally making 7nm the standard, they will be in line AMD in terms of the manufacturing process.

We will have to wait for Nvidia to release some performance stats before we know how much more powerful and faster the RTX 3000 series will be over the existing RTX 2000 series graphics cards. Speculation online is that the RTX 3080Ti will boast a 40% performance boost over the RTX 2080Ti as it has an whopping 5376 CUDA cores, 12GB of memory and a 384-bit bus interface.

Rumours circulating online is that there will be a RTX 3090 which will boast an enormous 24GB of GDDR6X memory, as well as a 384-bit interface and a 350W TDP.

Nvidia RTX 3000 price

Nvidia usaully bumps thier price with every generation from the GTX 1000 series to RTX 2000 series, so we can assume that the RTX 3000 series will be even more expensive.

Currently the RTX Super carries an sale price of £689 ($699), with the 2080 Ti going for around £1,149 ($1,199). Nvidia’s low end RTX line up, the RTX 2060 starts at £305 ($299), with the RTX 2070 going for £479 ($599).

According to new rumors, it looks like we could be looking at a price between £1,525 ($1,999) and £1,143 ($1,499) for Nvidia’s flagship GeForce RTX 3090. Nvidia are yet to release and information about the new RTX 3000 series GPUs, sure we can make guesses based on rumours or last years RTX 2000 series but we wont know for sure until Nvidia officially announce it.

Nvidia RTX 3000 conclusion

That is all we know so far but with some sort of announcement happening on August 31st, we will surely learn more about Nvidia’s next-gen RTX 3000 series GPU’s. If the current leaks and rumours are anything to go by, this could be about to get very interesting indeed as the race to become the best graphics card of 2020 is on.
